When you use an AI feature (AI chat, questions about your documents, the spreadsheet, document and slides agents, research, study help or summaries), the content needed for that request — your message and the relevant text, document excerpts or images — is sent over an encrypted connection to the third-party AI model providers that power the feature, such as Google (Gemini API) and Alibaba Cloud (Model Studio).

• Web search: search queries are sent to web search providers (such as Serper and DuckDuckGo)
• Nutrition scanner: product barcodes are sent to Open Food Facts
• Only on request: this data is sent only when you start an AI or search feature

These providers process the data under their own terms and privacy policies.

4.3 Data Sharing

We do NOT share your personal information with third parties except:

• To protect our rights, property, or safety

• Barcode scanning data is processed to retrieve nutritional information
• Your food tracking data is stored locally
• We do not share your dietary information with third parties
